Fresno is the most
populated county in the California’s San Joaquin Valley. It consists of people
from such a wide spectrum of origins that makes it one of the most ethnically
diverse places in the country. It’s biggest city, Fresno, is surrounded by some
of the most fertile and productive farmland in the world and is the home of
Fresno State University and it’s highly competitive sports teams.
Fresno was the primary home of famed writer William Saroyan. Historically, Fresno
County has contributed many legends to the world of sport including baseball’s
Tom Seaver, Legendary race driver Bill Vukovich and the two time Olympic
decathlon winner Rafer Johnson ,among others.
Situated nearly half-way between Southern and Northern California, Fresno County
is a unique place in the California landscape and is very centrally located as
an access point into the Sierra Nevada mountains including some of the United
States most beautiful National parks and proximity to the Central Coast of
California including Monterey Bay.
